Harrie,

Quote: › I only hope she will eventually seek medical assistance before something serious happens to her.

So that is your diagnosis, huh?

Quote: › Do theists in general think people who have such experiences do not need help, as all such experiences are of divine nature or something like that?

If her experience is of God, she doesn't need help.

If it is from an alternate spiritual source, she should get the right help.

If it is from a physiological source, then she should get medical treatment.

BUT, it is NOT for you to decide on some forum website just because you are arrogant enough to discredit any divine or spiritual source.

I advised her to seek medical attention as a doctor is the ONLY person who can diagnose her properly.

Just hoping that her experiences might be of divine origin can be a very dangerous folly in my opinion, and to be honest it all did not sound very divine to me.

Well, at least now I know why theists respond the way they do in cases like this, thanks for the info.

Harrie,

A doctor can certainly tell her what it is NOT, Harrie.

Ever meet a doctor who couldn't diagnose a problem?

Quote: › Just hoping that her experiences might be of divine origin can be a very dangerous folly in my opinion, and to be honest it all did not sound very divine to me.

Well that is your opinion. If my questions are answered truthfully, it would shed some more light on the situation.

But, from what was written, I doubt it is divine as well.

Quote: › Well, at least now I know why theists respond the way they do in cases like this, thanks for the info.

I have NEVER met a true Christian that would NOT seek medical attention for something like this. That is left to the realm of pseudo-christian cultists. Not saying it never happened but, I've not heard of it.

I'm talking about the theist responses in this thread.

Harrie,

And what was so wrong with the responses given?

Here they are again.

If her experience is of God, she doesn't need help.

If it is from an alternate spiritual source, she should get the right help.

If it is from a physiological source, then she should get medical treatment.

Again, what is so wrong with these? As I am the only theist that responded other than Tammi.

And we don't know that so she needs help to determine that.

Quote: › If it is from an alternate spiritual source, she should get the right help.

Completely agree.

Quote: › If it is from a physiological source, then she should get medical treatment.

Completely agree.

So in all cases: she needs help.

I understand that. I mean she doesn't need any medical or psychiatric help.

Rerun:

How do YOU know that? Wouldn’t it be better if a doctor would decide about that? And THAT is what I mean!
There are many medical conditions that could cause such experiences and some of them are even lethal! Just keep that in mind for the next time somebody like Tammi comes around.

Let a medic check it out, and if it isn’t a medical or psychological problem you could still take that person to church, pray, faith heal, worship, perform an exorcism or whatever anyone might manage to come up with. But FIRST medical care!

if you guys would really like more info on my experiences you can google "caulbearer" or born with a veil over face.this is the way i was born.jesus was also born with a veil over his face.i do not need medical care.i appologize if i seemed to be rude in my last post's,i do get very aggravated by people who don't have a clue and right away start calling me a schizo.

p.s

just because i have'nt been on this site much does not mean i've forgotten about you Harrie,i have been praying for you every day!

Thank you, that sound better than calling names...

I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions?

You had these experiences as long as you can remember?
Are they always friendly in nature?

Dear Tammie,

You said in the beginning: "yes,i have seen them on many occasions, but i'm not gonna share my experiences with a bunch of non-believers trying to fight with someone. That is all i've met on this site so far."

I would comment on the responses to your above post as follows.

1. Just because another has not experienced what you have does not justify their denial of your experience.

2. Unless another knows for an absolute certainty all the facts surrounding your experiences it is obvious that another cannot correctly assess or judge that experience.

3. When it comes to understanding things of a spiritual nature I think it would be well to consider what scripture says in this regard. "For what man understands the things of man save the spirit of man which is in him. Even so the things of God understandeth no man, but the spirit of God." In other words, the things of God are spiritually discerned.

This is known or referred to as one of the gifts of the spirit of the Holy Ghost more commonly known as the gift of discernment.

Take for example the experience of Saul (later known as Paul) when on his way to persecute the saints living in Damascus. Paul saw a light and heard a voice. The others with him saw the light, but heard not the voice. Their experience or lack thereof in no way denies the additional spiritual experience of Paul.

4. It was not through medical experience that Christ discerned that certain individuals were possessed with evil spirits, but by that same gift of the spirit discernment that a correct diagnosis was made and those evil spirits were cast out.

5. Not everyone has the same gifts. For example, why were only certain wise or holy men permitted to see and follow the guiding star that led them to where the young Christ child lived? Ponder upon that and you might get answers to your own situation and experiences. Idea

thank you Revelations too,i was wondering why this site is called christian "defense" it seemed no one was gonna come to my defense for a little while. It really can get annoying when people call you crazy just because they have'nt experienced the same things you have.I truly believe that is why most people like myself do not openly share these experiences with the world.

Rerun,
thank you as well, now that i've read back through the posts i see that you did actually give me the benefit of the doubt too.so thanks that is much appreciated.however, just because i sin and i get mad and react like any human being would does not mean my experiences are not divine.i would love to answer some of your questions but i also have to think about my own safety alot when it comes to sharing things of this nature.the reason it has stopped being documented when a child is born as i was is because these babies were being killed at birth.which makes me very uneasy talking about it.
