Quote: › Another question was asked if being a skeptic makes you an evil person.
Does it MAKE you?
SHOULD it make you?
WHY WOULD it make you?
HOW COULD it make you? |
I can only answer from this point of view.
1. Does being a skeptic make you an evil person?
No. Being a skeptic has no effect on whether or not a person is good or evil. Being good or evil boils down to individual choices, and it is the responsibility of the individual to make those choices.
2. Should being a skeptic make you evil?
No. Being a skeptic should not make you evil. Being a skeptic should give you the realization that you are ultimately responsible for any and all decisions you make. There are no second chances after this life, which should make all the decisions of greater import to the individual.
3. Why would being a skeptic make you evil?
For some, I guess the loss of oversight could lead to being evil. But that is just a guess.
4. How could being a skeptic make you evil?
Some people require constant oversight or fear of oversight in order to behave appropriately. For those who lose faith and have this need, the freedom of skeptical beliefs could conceivably make you evil. However, the same freedom could make you good. It is impossible to say on a grand scale, but only on the individual level.
Looking forward to other comments.
