Greetings mole,

Your response is somewhat amusing and slightly off topic to say the least.

I would like to have your references so I don’t get a out of context slanted perspective.

Your quote allegedly says: “Kimball also said the church recommends that members marry partners who have the same racial, economic, social, educational and religious background.”

So, if I understand your perspective correctly, it would appear that your advice for successful happy marriages would be for church members to marry partners with different social, racial, economic, educational and religious backgrounds.???

I suspect that if you did further investigation that you would find President Kimball’s suggestions on the above issues would be very similar to those of a Catholic priest, a Rabbi, or many other Protestant ministers. I think those suggestions overall are just good common sense.

For your information, the church has no restrictions whatsoever on interracial marriages or any of the above listed issues upon which his advice was given.

Any marriage in the best of circumstances usually requires adjustments in almost every area of the relationship.

On a personal note, you might note that one of our daughters married a wonderful Filipino. She has a very light complexion. All their children have that very beautiful tan Filipino complexion. They enjoy every blessing any other church member can enjoy. Yes, mixed marriages can also work very successfully! Their marriage has our 100% blessing and approval.

Regards,
RT
